Job Description: Literacy Intervention Specialist
The Literacy Intervention Specialist is responsible for analyzing formal literacy assessments and implementing targeted intervention plans that address the specific reading and writing needs of children. Working within CIPPO’s neurodiversity-affirmative framework, the specialist delivers individualized and small-group literacy support using structured, evidence-based methods that enhance decoding, comprehension, fluency, and written expression. The role requires close collaboration with teachers, families, and the CIPPO Impact Team to ensure that intervention strategies are aligned with academic goals and home reinforcement. Progress is monitored through measurable data drawn from formal tools and ongoing session records, with regular reports shared to support child development and family understanding. The Literacy Intervention Specialist is expected to apply multisensory and child-centered approaches that foster confidence and engagement, while maintaining fidelity to recognized literacy methodologies such as Lindamood-Bell, Orton-Gillingham, or equivalent. Candidates should hold a relevant degree in Education, Psychology, or Speech & Language, with formal training in structured literacy programs strongly preferred. Prior experience with neurodiverse learners is essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a child’s academic and emotional growth while advancing inclusive education practices across schools and communities.
